Structure and navigation

Every part of the page uses real HTML, headings, landmarks, buttons and links, not decorative elements standing in for them, so a screen reader can navigate it the way it would navigate any well-built site. The daily predictions update in place using a live region, so a screen reader announces new numbers without needing a page reload.

Keyboard support

Everything on the site works without a mouse. The menu in the top right opens and closes with the keyboard, closes on Escape, and returns focus to the button afterwards. Focus is always visible; we never remove it without providing a replacement.

Colour and contrast

Text and the coloured line names meet WCAG AA contrast in both light and dark mode. We test this with real measured numbers rather than by eye. When we found the Piccadilly line's colour was close to unreadable in dark mode, we fixed it rather than leaving it as a design compromise. We also don't rely on colour alone for meaning: the hotter/cooler indicator pairs a coloured bar with an icon and description text, not colour by itself.

What we haven't finished

This is a small, actively maintained site, not a finished product with a formal conformance statement. If you hit a genuine accessibility problem, we'd rather hear about it and fix it than have you work around it.
